Frequently asked Questions about the Bikes Electrical

I LIVE IN an APARTMENT, HOW CAN I MAKE the RECHARGE OF THE BATTERIES ?

Useless have lots of fun riding his electric bike in the stairs for the load in and of itself since 90 % of the models have removable batteries that can be removed very easily for charging at home on a 220-Volt power outlet in the traditional way.

THE BATTERY IS CHARGING You IT WHEN I PEDAL ?

Some models have a dynamo which recharges the battery when pedaling or downhill. However, the energy gain is minimal and you will not be able to perform a charging total battery - except on a downhill run of 30 km ;-)

ELECTRIC BIKES - WHAT STANDARDS ?

The european directive 2002/24/EC sets out the criteria for what an electric bike can travel on the public highway :

the assistance should be done only if the cyclist pedals, and the cutting off of the pedal. However, it is allowed to put in place a start-up assistance without the need for pedalling, but must not exceed 6 km/h.

The ASSISTANCE MUST BE CUT to 25 km/h ?

The engine power must not exceed 250 Watts

Important : If your electric bike is not responding to any of these features, it classifies it in the category of mopeds and requires a homologation special.

Yes, it must be insured, but the liability of the home insurance is usually enough.
